Death at theme park
An employee at a theme park has been killed after he was hit by a ride.
The man worked at the Camelot theme park, in Chorley, Lancashire, - it is believed he was struck by the Gauntlet ride shortly after 1400 BST on Monday. A full investigation has been launched by the police and the Health and Safety Executive. The man has not been formally identified - a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out in due course. In a statement, Roy Page, chief executive of Camelot Theme Park, said: "I can confirm that an incident occurred today at 2pm that resulted in a fatality involving a member of staff. "We are all devastated and extremely distressed and our thoughts and condolences are with the colleague's family at this time." The park, which is currently open for half-term, was closed following the incident. More soon.
