Two men sought over sexual assault
Lothian and Borders Police
Lothian and Borders Police are looking for two men
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 23-year-old woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault in the Leith area of Edinburgh at the weekend.

The woman had been standing in Salamander Street early on Saturday morning when a taxi dropped off two men.

She was attacked by one of the men behind a building on Carron Place.

Both men later ran off and were last seen heading into Links Place.

We are keen to speak to both taxi drivers to see if they can give us more details about what happened and about the two men involved

Lothian and Borders Police
Officers said that one of the men argued with the woman at about 0300 BST on Saturday before attacking her.

He then ran off, met up with a friend and the pair hailed a taxi.

Lothian and Borders Police said the taxi driver told them to get out after the victim told him she had been attacked.

Both men then ran off down Salamander Place into Links Place, where they disappeared from view.

The main suspect is described as 35 years old, 5ft 8in tall and thin with short dark brown hair.

He was clean-shaven and spoke with an Edinburgh accent.

The man's companion was said to be in his late 30s and stocky with short blond hair.

He was clean-shaven and wore a fawn-coloured waist-length jacket.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: "We are keen to speak to both taxi drivers to see if they can give us more details about what happened and about the two men involved."
