Indian film maker charged
The authorities in the southern Indian state of Karnataka have charged a leading film maker with stealing electricity.

The film producer, Sanjay Khan - along with five others - allegedly stole electricity for the construction of a health resort in the state capital, Bangalore, three years ago.

The authorities are also demanding twenty-thousand dollars from Mr Khan.

They say he allowed the resort to draw electricity from the main overhead cable illegally. Mr Khan denies the charges.

The case is due to be heard by a local court but legal experts say a final ruling could take years.
