Three people died in separate accidents

Scottish police forces have launched investigations into the deaths of three people in separate road accidents over the weekend.

A 21-year-old male passenger in a car which the left road in Ayrshire died from his injuries in the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley.

The driver and front-seat passenger, both 19-year-old women, received serious injuries when the vehicle hit trees near Lugton on Saturday.

The accidents are being investigated

A 61-year-old man, also in Ayrshire, died after he was in collision with a minibus.

The accident happened on the A736 Beith Road near Burnhouse in the early hours of today.

The 62-year-old driver of the minibus and 10 passengers on board were uninjured but badly shaken as a result of the crash.

The third fatality happened on the M9 near Grangemouth when a man was in collision with a southbound articulated lorry at around 0310 BST on Sunday.

Central Scotland Police were appealing for anyone who may have seen a man on motorway at around the time of the accident to contact them.
