US targets Taleban front line
American aircraft have begun pounding Taliban troops north of the Afghan capital - Kabul - and the key town of Mazar-i-Sharif. Opposition Afghan forces are trying to capture the cities. The Pentagon says there is no evidence to support Taliban claims that aircraft had bombed a hospital in the western city of Herat on Monday and killed more than 100 people. The BBC's David Shukman reports.
