War aid row deepens
Afghan refugees in Nimrouz province, Afghanistan
There has been a huge upsurge in refugees fleeing Afghanistan
It was supposed to be a three-pronged war involving military strikes, diplomacy and humanitarian aid for the Afghan people. Now, though, there is recrimination between the British government and the aid agencies.

The charities say that if there is no pause in the Allied bombing, supplies of food will not reach many Afghans and large numbers of people will be faced with starvation.

International Development Secretary Clare Short accused British aid workers of exaggerating, and said food was getting through despite the air strikes.

PM's Gillian Hargreaves reports on the public spat between government and the charities.

And General William Odum, former director of the US National Security Agency, gives his view on Allied strategy in Afghanistan.
