Area where Jennifer Harden was stabbed
Jennifer Harden was stabbed near her home
A young woman has been charged with murdering a 15- year-old Jennifer Harden in Salford on Wednesday night.

Louise Davidson, 19, from Southern Street in Seedley is accused of the stabbing and will appear before Salford magistrates later today.

Jennifer Harden, of Middlebourne Street, Salford was found with stab wounds near her home in Southern Street at 2015 BST on Wednesday.

The teenager was taken to Hope Hospital in the city but later died.

She was just 15 years old. She had all her life in front of her

Jennifer Harden's parents, Wendy, 38, and George, 45, said they were devastated by her death.

Mr Harden said: "It feels just like I've got a hole in my stomach.

"I feel I want to hide away from it all. She was just 15 years old. She had all her life in front of her.

"She was a fun-loving teenager, just blossoming into a woman."

Mr Harden said he went out last night with his wife and received a telephone call to say his daughter had been stabbed.

Post mortem

"I ran up the road towards Southern Street where there were 20 to 30 people standing around.

"I saw her lying on the floor. Her mum was talking to her and there was a lady who kept saying `Your mum's here Jenny, your mum's here'.

"A man was holding a towel to her neck. I felt helpless, there was nothing I could do."

Mr Harden said he and his wife then went in the ambulance with their daughter to hospital and stayed with her until she died.

A post mortem examination will be carried out on Thursday afternoon.
