Italian helicopter crashes

An Italian military helicopter has crashed into the sea during an exercise in the central region of Tuscany.

One report says the helicopter, carrying five crew smashed into a stretch of coastline in fog near the city of La Spezia.

One of the crew managed to jump into the water before the helicopter came down and was later picked up.

Rescuers are searching for the other four.

Officials say the helicopter was taking part in international manoeuvres to train rescuers working in severe weather conditions.
