Drug dealer praised by judge
Feltham Young Offenders' Institution
White awoke to find the prisoner seconds from death
A drug dealer has won a reduced sentence after being praised by a judge for stopping his cellmate from committing suicide.

Eliott White, 20, was on remand in west London's Feltham Young Offenders' Institution when he awoke to find the other prisoner just seconds from death.

London Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court was told White quickly untied the man from his noose and raised the alarm, "undoubtedly saving his life".

Judge Henry Blacksell QC told the court the defendant "deserved to have his bravery recognised".

The judge then decided to reduce White's sentence to 18 months from the longer period he was planning to give him

White, of Danehurst Street, Fulham, south west London, was convicted of possessing heroin and crack cocaine, with intent to supply, as well as two counts of possession.
