Israeli tourism minister shot
An Israeli man, believed to be the country's hard-line tourism minister, Rehavam Zeevi, has been shot and wounded in an east Jerusalem hotel.
According to reports on Israel radio and army radio Mr Zeevi was attacked by two gunmen at Jerusalem's Hyatt Hotel and shot in the head. He has been transferred to the trauma unit at Hadassah Hospital, in Jerusalem, where his condition has been described as critical, with Israel army radio quoting emergency services members as saying he had no pulse. Mr Zeevi is the head of the nationalistic Moledet Party and he resigned from Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's government on Monday in protest over Israel's military pull-out from Hebron.
