Garage bomb injures one
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after a bomb exploded at a garage in South Devon.

People reported hearing a loud explosion at ANS Motors in Bradley Lane, Newton Abbot just after 0820 BST on Monday.

Emergency services were called and a man was discovered with serious facial injuries.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Nearby industrial units were evacuated as a precaution.

Police have confirmed that the device was home-made but they are stressing there is no suggestion of terrorism.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Constabulary says there is no further threat to the public, although people are being asked to stay clear of the area while investigations continue.

Sergeant Dave Anning said: " We are appealing to anyone who's been in the Bradley Road area since Friday and who may have seen something suspicious to give us a call.

Detectives are carrying out a search of the area.
