Argentina braces itself for financial crisis |

| Financial experts from Argentina are still locked in negotiations with officials at the International Monetary Fund for a massive loan to save their country's economy from bankruptcy. The government needs up to $9 bn to pay its bills, but in return the IMF is demanding it make huge cuts in public spending. There have been widespread protests in Argentina against the cuts, but the government says they are the only way to get the economy back on track. The BBC's Bill Hayton reports. |
