Sudan government says rebels rejecting peace
The Sudanese government has accused the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Army SPLA of rejecting a peace initiative by Egypt and Libya. The Presidential Peace Advisor, Ghazi Salah Eddin Atabani, told correspondents that the SPLA is opposing the move despite its previous statements that it supported the joint initiative. Mr Atabani said the Sudanese government accepts the peace initiative unconditionally and is urging both Libya and Egypt to implement it. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
