Iranian families protest against detentions
The families of jailed Iranian opposition activists have been demonstrating against the continued detention of members of the outlawed Freedom Movement of Iran and other nationalists. Relatives gathered outside the department of justice in Teheran carrying placards and shouting slogans. They were protesting against what they described as the the intolerable conditions of the prisoners. Many of those being detained were arrested earlier this year on charges of plotting against the state. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
