Picture gallery: Balloon Fiesta
The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta takes places this weekend.

It began 23 years ago and is one the UK's biggest outdoor events, attracting some 500,000 spectators last year.

This year's fiesta has been hit by the foot-and-mouth epidemic, with restrictions on flying.

This has failed to dampen people's enjoyment. Spectator John Collings got so carried away he whisked his girlfriend Naomi Lonney off the ground to propose marriage.
