Chadian president reappoints PM

The re-elected Chadian President, Idriss Deby, has reappointed, Nagoum Yamassoum, as his prime minister.

Mr Yamassoum, who has been prime minister for the past twenty months, resigned his post as required under the constitution.

He is expected to name his new cabinet within 48 hours.

President Deby was sworn in on Wednesday for a second five-year term after winning elections in May with 67% of the vote.

But the six defeated candidates who challenged him in the poll have accused him of vote rigging.
