Way forward for troubled Air Afrique
Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade says a deal can be found to save the debt-ridden pan-African airline, Air Afrique.

Mr Wade was speaking after talks with executives from Air France, a minority shareholder in Air Afrique, on ways to prevent the company from collapse.

No details of a rescue package have been given.

In June, the heads of state from the 11 African countries that own Air Afrique asked Mr Wade, and President Laurent Gbagbo of Ivory Coast, to seek the help of Air France in salvaging the company.

The two presidents are due to present the results of their mission to the 11 leaders at a meeting in Brazzaville on Monday.
