Milosevic daughter charged over shooting
Slobodan Milosevic, Serbian warlord Arkan, Marija Milosevic and her brother Marko
Marija Milosevic was distraught at her father's arrest
The daughter of jailed former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic has been charged in connection with a shooting incident at her father's arrest in April, the state news agency Tanjug has reported.

Marija Milosevic allegedly fired several bullets at a government official sent to negotiate her father's surrender.

Mira Markovic
Mother Mira is alleged to be behind some political assassinations
Ms Milosevic, who was not fully licensed for the three guns found in her possession, was charged with public endangerment and illegal possession of weapons.

The former president is awaiting trial in The Hague on war crimes charges.

Ms Milosevic could face between one and eight years' imprisonment.

Nervous breakdown

Local media reported that she had been sighted in the Montenegrin capital Podgorica and was planning to move to the Bosnian Serb Republic.

She is said to have suffered a nervous breakdown after her father was removed from power last October, shooting dead her ex-lover's dog and breaking windows in her Belgrade mansion.

And she told journalists that during Mr Milosevic's arrest she had drunk a whole bottle of cognac on an empty stomach before firing the shots.

The members of the former president's family have been no strangers to controversy.

His wife, Mira Markovic, is rumoured to have had a hand in some of the political assassinations that blighted Yugoslavia towards the end of his rule.

And son Marko is in hiding while his extensive business dealings are investigated.
