| US billionaire Steve Fossett is attempting to become the first person to fly solo around the globe in a balloon. He is currently somewhere over the Pacific Ocean heading for Chile and, despite problems with vital satellite equipment and fears about a shortage of oxygen, appears to be on course to make history. Among the many people assisting the daring balloonist from terra firma is Jim Mitchell, spokesman for mission control at Washington University. He spoke to BBC News Online's Enda Twomey about Mr Fossett's progress. |
