But it has rejected calls for a full public inquiry, saying that this would be too expensive and would take too long. The chairman of one of the three investigations into the epidemic, defended the decision not to hold the inquiry in public. Dr Iain Anderson denied that his findings would be compromised because evidence would be gathered behind closed doors. Vote now.
