Expansion brings jobs boost
The IAS call centre opened in Belfast last year
Expansion plans at a west Belfast call centre are set to create an extra 100 jobs in the area.
The company, Insurance Advisory Services, is to expand its operation at the Springvale Business Park, off the Springfield Road, which currently employs 227 people. It is hoped the call centre, which opened its Belfast centre last year, will have its new staff recruited by the end of the year. Managing director of IAS, David Holden, said that staff already employed at the centre had performed to impressive levels. Community support Speaking on Friday he said: "Many have taken advantage of the excellent promotion opportunities to progress to management positions resulting from the expansion that has taken place during the past year." "The support which we have received from the community, together with the encouragement from the Industrial Development Board, has resulted in the business moving faster than originally projected." IAS employs 600 people throughout the UK and is part of the Belgian Fortis International financial group. |
