Woman sues MTV over screen kiss
Ms Daly is suing MTV's parent company
A woman is suing a reality TV show after she was filmed kissing a member of a rock group in a toilet cubicle.
The footage was then seen on the show and used in magazine advertising and on billboards. Diana Lynn Daly alleges that a film crew from the VH1 show Bands on the Run followed her into the toilet and taped her kissing the man. Her lawyer R Michael Lieberman claims that although she signed a consent form, it was invalid because she was intoxicated at the time. Bands on the Run showcases four unknown groups, vying to win a cash prize after going on the road. Rolling Stone Ms Daly was featured in its highly-publicised first show, advertised in Rolling Stone and People magazine and on a Los Angeles advertising hoarding. The 22-year-old is suing MTV Networks and its parent company Viacom Inc, which owns VH-1. The lawsuit, filed at the San Francisco Superior Court, also alleges she was libelled because the programme falsely insinuated that she had a sexual relationship with a band member. MTV Networks declined to comment on the suit.
