Word Lab 2: Your views
Mark B and Blade
Can UK hip hop challenge its US cousins?
British hip hop has always been very much in the shadow of its American forefathers.

World Lab 2 is a new compilation of British hip hop which hopes to change all that.

The album features artists with rising profiles, such as Roots Manuva and Mark B and Blade.

"UK hip hop may have earned the respect and recognition it has been searching for and could soon give the American scene something to worry about," wrote BBC News Online's Barney Rowntree.

But what do you think?

Is this the cue for British hip hop to step into the limelight? Or should we face facts and admit that its US creators can't be beaten?
