Yet more death and destruction in the Middle East - nineteen people reported killed, another eighty injured by a bomb which ripped through the centre of Jerusalem.

Islamic Jihad is reported to be claiming responsibility.

It's the most deadly , the biggest explosion inside Jerusalem since the start of this present conflict 10 months ago.

Palestinian TV is now reporting that Israeli tanks are shelling residential areas south of Gaza. Yasser Arafat has denouced todays violence and is calling for a truce.

There appears to be nothing more than a dialogue of death going on in the middle east - each side blaming the other - both sides saying it is up to the other to resolve the worsening situation.

Dori Gold, is a senior adviser to Ariel Sharron, he told PM the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat was directly responsible because he hadn't abided by the terms of the cease fire negotiated in mid-june:
