Trimble: decommissioning deadline today
First Minister David Trimble
Trimble: the Northern Ireland Assembly may collapse
David Trimble has written an article for today's Belfast Telegraph, in which he is strongly critical of the British and Irish governments.

In it he criticises the "opportunistic, sentimental soundbites which appear to be the only mode of discourse for governments with lists of apparent concessions".

Mr Trimble has also suggested that today may be the latest opportunity for the IRA to begin weapons decommissioning.

The World at One examines the consequences of a failure by the IRA to meet or even set a decommissioning deadline.
