D'Edmonton

A British journalist angers Canadian citizens by damning the hosts of the World Atheltics Championships. Robert Phillips of the Daily Telegraph renamed Edmonton 'Deadmonton', saying the charms of the Canadian city were less than obvious, and that its people were bafflingly proud of their home town. The city's residents reacted with fury and resentment. The BBC's Allan Little spoke to Edmonton's mayor Bill Smith.
