Politician's widow takes authors to court
The widow of the former chief minister of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh - the film star, NT Rama Rao - has filed a criminal defamation case against the authors of a book which alleges she was indirectly responsible for his death.

Lakshmi Parvathy says she wants the book's author, Kakarla Subba Rao, and co-author, Arun Tewari, to remove remarks suggesting she didn't do enough to save her husband after he suffered a heart attack five years ago.

She said she was not seeking damages.

Lakshmi Parvathy said she also disputed the author's claim that he was a personal physician to her husband.

The case is due to be heard later this month.

The book is entitled "A Doctor's Life and Death" and is based on NT Rama Rao's life.
