Environment Minister Michael Meacher launches details of a UK emission trading scheme due to come in next year to help companies meet targets on reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
The TUC is due to publish the results of its investigation into the treatment of temporary workers. Today is the last day of the two-week summer truce in campaigning in the Conservative leadership election.
