Ulster Unionist Party Leader David Trimble says lunchtime is the de facto deadline for a decision on whether to recall the Northern Ireland Assembly to try to elect a new First Minister and Deputy First Minister.
Mr Trimble resigned as first minister almost six weeks ago and Sunday marks the end of the period when Sir Reg Empey can continue as acting first minister.
