It is a dog's life in New York City, where it is even possible to have your pet go to an animal spa for an aromatherapy massage. If they need psychological rather than physical help then there are of course dog psychiatrists and now dog psychic mediums. They claim to be able to communicate telepathically via words, thoughts and pictures with your pet to resolve emotional, medical and behavioural problems. The BBC's Jane Standley took her two problem mongrels to see a medium for help.
