The police have said they have found nothing at a Gaelic Athletic Association ground in Omagh after a security alert.

The alert was at the Killyclougher ground on the Drumnakilly Road outside the County Tyrone town.

Army technical officers were called after a suspicious object was found behind the grandstand close to the playing fields on Thursday.

Meanwhile, army bomb disposal officers were also called to examine a suspicious object in Newtownabbey, County Antrim.

It was found in a car park at the back of premises in Church Road on Thursday.

In Coleraine, a number of homes were evacuated after an unexploded pipe bomb was found at the back of a house at Loughanhill Park.

It has been made safe and taken away for forensic examination.

Police said the attack was not believed to have been sectarian.
