Mexico and Colombia join forces against drugs

Officials from Colombia and Mexico have pledged to build a joint strategy to fight the illegal drugs trade, money laundering and organised crime.

After a high-level meeting, the two sides agreed to share more intelligence to track possible connections between Colombian and Mexican drug traffickers.

The high-level meeting of military, police, and political officials in Mexico City is part of the efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries following the visit by the Mexican President, Vicente Fox, to Colombia in April.
