Britney and boyfriend may record duet
N'sync vocalist Justin Timberlake has told Rolling Stone magazine he wants to record a duet with his girlfriend, the chart-topping pop star Britney Spears.

Timberlake said he was helping Spears, 19, swap her trademark bubblegum brand of pop for a harder sound.

Now on tour to promote N'sync's new album, Celebrity, released on Monday, he said he hoped they could record a song together when the time was right.

"It definitely would be a spectacle. It would be huge," he told the magazine.

EastEnders actress denies drink driving

EastEnders actress Elaine Lordan pleaded not guilty to a drink drive charge.

The star, who plays cafe worker Lynne Slater, appeared before magistrates at St Albans.

The court was told the actress was arrested on 3 July in Borehamwood.

She was granted unconditional bail until the trial on 11 October, which is expected to last a day.

Kidman committed to von Trier film

Nicole Kidman claims she is still committed to award-winning director Lars von Trier's film despite reports to the contrary.

She had reportedly been dropped from Dogville after failing to sign a contract.

But Kidman's spokeswoman, Catherine Olim, said that as far as she knew, the actress remained attached to the movie.

She said: "She's doing the film. There's things that need to be signed on the dotted line, but she's still doing the film."

Union calls waxwork withdrawal

A trade union is calling on politicians and celebrities to withdraw their waxworks from Madame Tussaud's in a row of the sacking of a worker.

The GMB is mounting the protest over what it believes is the unfair dismissal of an unnamed woman.

She was sacked earlier this year for alleged breach of duty, trust and confidence and is taking a case of unfair dismissal to an employment tribunal.

The union believes celebrities should show their solidarity by removing their models from the London attraction.

Baptism for Celine Dion baby

Canadian songstress Celine Dion and her husband and manager Rene Angelil are baptising their baby at the place they married in 1994.

Rene-Charles - nicknamed "Little Prince" by the couple - was born in January using in-vitro fertilisation.

Dion and Angelil had feared they would be unable to have children after he underwent treatment for throat cancer.

The youngster will be baptised in a private ceremony in a chapel next to the Notre-Dame Cathedral in old Montreal.

Comedy kids wow the crowd

Talented comedians as young as seven took to the stage at the London Comedy Festival.

The children, between the ages of seven and 11, were picked from 1,000 primary schools to perform sketches at the Camden Capers Children's Day.

One youngster entertained with the crowd with his Ali G impersonation at the outdoor event.

Biscuit ban

Free biscuits could be banned from BBC internal meetings as the corporation seeks to cut costs, according to reports.

Newspaper reports say a leaked memo suggests BBC director general Greg Dyke is seeking to cut costs by axing the snacks from meetings.

The memo allegedly said that £210,000 was spent on biscuits a year.

A BBC spokeswoman said: "Biscuits being banned in meetings is a proposal being considered among many ways in which to reduce running costs."
