Multiple sclerosis woman attacked

Three teenage girls have attacked a woman with multiple sclerosis as she sat in a parked car.

The girls also snatched a gold watch from the 48-year-old's wrist and stole her purse.

The woman, who has not been named and comes from Kent, was in the passenger seat of the car when one of the girls lunged at her through an open window.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said the attack, which took place in Swanscombe, was carried out by one of the three girls, who were aged just 12 or 13.

The woman was sat in the front passenger seat of a red Peugeot 405, which was parked in Sweyne Road.

Attackers' descriptions

In a statement, police said: "One of the girls poked her head through the window of the car and punched the woman in the stomach before pulling a gold watch from the victim's wrist.

"The girl also took the victim's purse containing £50 cash from the dashboard of the vehicle."

All three girls were white. One attacker is described as 5ft 10ins, with brown eyes, a skinny build and she had long brown hair, which was plaited at the back.

She was wearing red trousers and gold looped earrings, as well as gold necklaces and several rings.

'Chubby build'

The other two were also 5ft 10ins tall. One was of chubby build, with blond hair cut in to a bob and she was wearing black jeans.

The third was thin, with shoulder-length hair and she was wearing a mauve jumper and black trousers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened at 1800BST on 15 July.

A spokeswoman said the information on the incident had only just been released because of the sensitive nature of the victim's circumstances.
