See and hear BBC News Online's adverts
BBC News Online readers in the UK may well have seen our first promotional campaign, which is currently running on television, radio, in newspapers and on street hoardings.

The basis for the campaign has been how much can happen in a minute, whether the spreading of foot-and-mouth, or the humbling of a peer, through to the massive events of world politics such as Nelson Mandela walking to freedom.

If you live outside the UK and have missed the campaign, or would just like to see the posters or hear the radio adverts again, here is your chance.

Click any of these links to go to a page from which you can make any of three of the posters into your desktop wallpaper.

Fantastic - what more can one say. Like Paul Bates, the first ad in the series I came across was the Berlin Wall themed ad. What a moving series of ads. 110 out of 10 for whichever ad exec thought up this idea. A real tribute to the quality of the BBC's journalism.

Although I an now a US citizen, I was born in London and have always loved the BBC. My girlfriend and I were visiting London during the month of July and I noticed the adverts on the London Underground. They were really effective, and I thought the subjects chosen were excellent, especially the Berlin Wall. Very poignant.

The BBC ticker which can be installed onto the PC and gives the user an up to the min news headline is a very good idea. I'm a foreign student studying in London and I think the BBC covers the Indian Sub-Continents' affairs very well. It's like home away from home, thank you for the good work.

I've found the ad campaign surrounding these pictures very innovative and just as interesting. The Author/Storyteller picture has to be one of my favourites! To have them added as desktop wallpaper is a wonderful touch. I'm sure if further pictures were made available, I wouldn't be the only one to use them and find them a wonderful addition to my daily view! Long may they continue.

Very hard-hitting and informative campaign. Well thought out and interesting posters. I'm definitely going to keep a few for my desktop!
Andrew Greenhalgh, England

Why are so many of the examples you choose to show so old (Moonlandings, Berlin, etc.) I thought the aim was to show how up-to-date you are.
Sacha Ward, UK

I have taken a lot of notice regarding the new advertisements for BBC News Online, the one the first which attracted my attention was the TV ad about the Berlin wall, I found the imagery involved to be extremely clever, thought provoking and memorable....well done.
Paul Bates, UK

Being an English national living in Brazil, BBC Online is where I keep up to date with UK and World news. I've tried other news services online, but I've found that the BBC offers more than the news - there's a certain personality with how the stories are delivered, a special angle the others don't have. Well done, keep up the good work and I hope that with the campaign, others can discover the best news site on the web.
Julian, Brazil

You do not indicate what is represented by the pictures - I cannot identify Geography & History. Was this intended as a quiz or is this a represenation of the ground at Anfield Park today?
John Arnett, Dominican Republic

Good campaign. How about Michael Buerk's report?
