Cult leader ordered to pay gas victims
The leader of Japan's Aum Shinrikyo doomsday cult has been ordered to pay more than three million dollars in compensation to victims of a nerve gas attack seven years ago. The Tokyo district court said Skoko Asahara was responsible for masterminding a sarin gas attack on a provincial Japanese town in 1994. He is also accused of being behind the more serious assault on the Tokyo subway system the following year. The BBC's Charles Scanlon reports
