Ethiopia Oromo party in corruption purge

Four senior Oromo members of the governing coalition in Ethiopia have been suspended by their party for alleged corruption.

They include the president of the Oromo region, Kuma Demeska, and three other members of the Oromo People's Democratic Organisation.

A party statement quoted in the Ethiopian press accused them of corruption, nepotism and abuse of power.

Correspondents say it's the latest such move within the ruling Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front which is in the grip of a power struggle.
