Man denies murder charge
The accused man arrives at Lisburn court
The accused man arrives at Lisburn court
A 23-year-old man has appeared at Lisburn Magistrate's Court charged with the murder of a teenager in May.

Paul Walsh of Laurelbank in Poleglass on the outskirts of west Belfast pleaded not guilty to the murder of Damien Duffy on Tuesday.

Mr Duffy, 18, was attacked by a group of up to 20 people while walking home along the Stewartstown Road.

An RUC detective inspector told the court he had charged the accused following an identity parade in which a number of witnesses had picked him out.

He said there was no forensic evidence and that during a number of interviews Mr Walsh had consistently denied any involvement in the murder.

The case was adjourned for four weeks.

Mr Walsh is the second person to be charged in connection with Damien Duffy's death.

He will appear before Lisburn Magistrate's Court again on 21 August.
