Search on for Croatian war crimes suspect

A court in the Croatian capital, Zagreb, has issued a search warrant for one of two officers indicted by the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague.

The court has not published the name of the suspect - but he is believed to be a retired general, Ante Gotovina.

He and another general, Rahim Ademi, are wanted by the tribunal for alleged war crimes committed during Croatian military offensives against Serb rebels in 1993 and 1995.

Correspondents say General Gotovina is believed to be hiding abroad.

General Ademi has decided to surrender to the Tribunal and is expected to travel to the Hague in the next few days.
