Sri Lanka opposition campaign goes on
The opposition in Sri Lanka has vowed to press ahead with a campaign against the suspension of parliament by the president, Chandrika Kumaratunga.

The leader of the main opposition United National Party, Ranil Wickremesinghe, was joined by 70 smaller parties, trade unions and professional organisations in condemning the president's action.

The funeral of one of two men shot dead last Thursday during an opposition demonstration was held on Monday in the capital, Colombo.

The BBC correspondent in the city says the police deliberately kept a low profile during the hours-long funeral procession.
