Thai police arrest Briton
Map showing Thailand
Police in Thailand have arrested a Briton in connection with a murder inquiry in the UK.

Peter Mann, 45, was detained in the Phuket area by officers from the Royal Thailand Police and Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.

The Devon force is planning to seek his extradition, a spokesman said.

The body of 37-year-old David Maher was found dumped outside a dairy firm's premises in Paignton, Devon, on 17 November last year.

At the time police said he had been involved in a fight at his flat in Keysfield Road, Paignton.

His body may have been taken by van to the dairy, where it was found by a milkman.

Police named Mr Mann, who was Mr Maher's flatmate, as someone they wanted to question in connection with the death.

In May, Torbay magistrates issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr Mann.

He has not been charged in connection with the death, police said.
