Water crisis hits Damascus
Water officials in the Syrian capital, Damascus, are considering further rationing in the face of dwindling supplies. A government official is quoted as saying that the spring which is the capital's main water source is about to run dry because of continuing drought. Since April, the city's five million residents have had only eight hours water a day. A city official is quoted as saying that this may be cut to four, or even two hours a day.
