Israeli police find bomb in Haifa

Police in the northern Israeli city of Haifa have arrested a Palestinian who, they say, had planted a bomb near a building complex.

A police bomb squad defused the device which a spokesman described as very large.

Correspondents say the Israeli security forces were on heightened alert in case of a possible revenge attack after three members of a Palestinian family, including a baby, were killed on Thursday in the West Bank, apparently by Jewish settlers.
