No injuries in petrol bombing

There were no injuries when petrol bombs were thrown over the peaceline security barrier in west Belfast on Saturday night.

Two devices were thrown from the loyalist side of the wall at Cupar Street shortly after midnight.

They fell short of a corner house in cupar street, landing on waste ground.

The homeowner said that stones had been thrown over the barrier on previous nights, but it was a "new worry" that petrol bombs had now been thrown.

The incident followed disturbances at the nationalist/loyalist community interfaces in the north and east of the city in recent weeks.

However, tensions appear to have lessened this week.

Meanwhile, army bomb disposal experts have made safe a a pipe bomb found in an unoccupied flat in Armagh.

It was discovered in the roofspace of the building in Gough Avenue in the city shortly before 2300 BST.

No-one was arrested following the discovery.
