Man arrested over heroin find
Heroin bags
Drugs with a street value of £280,000 were seized
Police in Strathclyde have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with a big heroin find in Motherwell.

The man was stopped at the town's train station where £280,000 worth of the drug was discovered.

Detectives say the find was part of Operation Know the Score.

The drugs, believed to be heroin, were seized when officers stopped and searched a 39-year-old man in Motherwell Railway Station on Friday night.

The 39 year old man was arrested and was being detained in police custody.

A report is being submitted to the procurator fiscal.

The operation was part of the ongoing 'Safer Scotland Know the Score' campaign which was launched in May and runs until 31 August.
