Amanda Platell: not betraying any confidences

It's a safe bet that at 6.45 this evening every Tory MP - and many from other parties too - will be glued to their TVs watching William Hague's former spin doctor dishing the dirt on their election campaign.

Anyone who knows me knows that I've been fiercly loyal to William Hague and the Conservative Party and I will go on being loyal.

Amanda Platell

Ms Amanda Platell's astonishingly frank remarks, in her video diary to be shown on Channel 4, will horrify many Conservatives.

The comments will attract attention not so much for what thy reveal about the general election, but for any impact they might have on Tuesday final leadership ballot.

I think it's appalling that anybody who's worked in a private office in a position of trust should abuse that."

David Liddington, former Parliamentary aide of William Hague

Ms Platell suggests that supporters of Michael Portillo were undermining William Hague and plotting a takeover even before June 7th.
