| Fears that the Alder Hey body parts scandal would cause a drop in the number of organ donors have proved to be unfounded. The UK Transplant Authority says the number of donors has actually increased by around 20 per cent. It is thought that rather than discouraging relatives from giving their consent, the publicity surrounding the scandal has raised public awareness about the issue. The BBC's Lucy Atherton reports: |
