Edinburgh Park: Expansion approved
The Scottish Executive has given conditional approval for a massive expansion of the Edinburgh Park business complex.

Almost £400m will be invested in the scheme on the western outskirts of the capital, which is expected to create thousand of jobs.

The proposals were passed to the Scottish Executive for approval because of the sheer size and potential impact of the expansion plans on the surrounding green belt area.

The scheme has been approved by the executive but concerns over the traffic implications will have to be addressed before the final go ahead is given.

The developers say that the expansion of Edinburgh Park will provide much needed high quality office space in the capital - with the potential to provide headquarters facilities for international companies.

They predict up to 20,000 jobs can be created in the long term with the project acting as a catalyst for business investment - not only in the capital, but Scotland as a whole.
