Food-poisoning milk firm sued in Japan

A dairy firm involved in Japan's biggest food poisoning outbreak is being sued by six of the victims who are demanding compensation totalling over $0.5m from the company Snow Brand.

They say they fell seriously ill after drinking contaminated milk produced by the firm.

About 14,000 people are reported to have fallen sick last July after drinking the milk, which had been contaminated with a harmful bacteria.

The food poisoning outbreak mainly occurred around the western city of Osaka.
