Mother of abandoned baby found
Joseph
"Joseph" was treated for hypothermia
Police have found the mother a newborn baby found in a bramble bush in a Wolverhampton garden.

The boy, who is thought to have been born on Wednesday, was found naked outside a house in Adelaide Walk, in the All Saints area of the city.

His cries were heard by a couple walking past at about 0030BST on Thursday.

They said they thought at first there was a cat in the garden.

When they discovered the baby they took him into their house to keep him warm, while they waiting for an ambulance.

The baby was taken to New Cross Hospital where he was treated in the neo-natal unit for hypothermia.

He made a full recovery and was named "Joseph" by nurses at the hospital.

The mother was traced after someone who knew her called the police.

They say she is safe and well but extremely traumatised.

She is unlikely to face any charges.
